Robert P. Dunlap, II, Attorney
Robert P. Dunlap, II, is a local Raleigh County attorney! He volunteers for numerous other charities and is honored as a WVVA Hometown Hero! In 2017, Rob halted the demolition of the Historic Beckley Newspaper Building, purchasing the five-story Prince Street structure weeks before the city scheduled demolition. This structure now has numerous thriving businesses and residents previously not located in Ward 3. Rob is a Southern West Virginian and Duquesne School of Law MBA/JD Dual Program Graduate. He is licensed to Practice Law in three Federal Jurisdictions, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. He enjoys weight training, property restoration, and spending time with his sons!
Melanie D. Hicks, Attorney
Melanie Hicks is a native of West Virginia. In 1994, she obtained an associate degree in Paralegal Studies; in 2010, she became a Certified Paralegal through NALA, a national paralegal organization; and in 2018 obtained an advanced certification in criminal defense. In 2022, she acquired a Regents Bachelor of Arts degree from Concord University in Athens, West Virginia, and in 2025, she graduated as valedictorian from Appalachian School of Law. Melanie began her career as a Paralegal in 1994 and in 2008, she incorporated Paralegal Solutions LLC. She worked as a freelance paralegal for attorneys and firms performing real estate work, litigation support, and contract review for 10 years. In 2016, she joined the team where she currently practices law in the areas of criminal
defense, civil litigation, estate planning, and real estate. She is also the co-owner, with her husband, of L & T Enterprises, Inc., an auto diesel repair shop, in Beckley, West Virginia. Melanie is the President of the Southern West Virginia Fellowship Home, a residential drug recovery program for men in Beckley, West Virginia. She is a proud mother of two children and grandmother of two granddaughters!

Megan Van Pelt is a graduate of Marshall University. Megan has years of experience in customer service and logistics. She strives to perform her job duties ethically and accurately.
